Let’s fix that one business problem you’re tired of working around.

Maybe quote requests get missed, or someone spends hours every week assembling the same report. I fix problems like these with AI, automation, and better reporting, one at a time.

You work directly with me, Andrew Cross. I’ve spent more than 20 years as a data engineer, DBA, and platform architect.

What I do

Bring the reporting bottleneck, the repetitive task, or the systems that don’t talk to each other. You don’t need to know which technology to buy.

AI and automation

Take the repetitive reading, typing, and looking-up off your team.

A good first step. One workflow and a set of sample documents.

  • An assistant that answers staff questions from your own documents
  • Pulling key fields out of invoices, contracts, or applications
  • Routing and follow-up for routine requests

Data and reporting

Bring spreadsheets and systems into one view you can trust.

A good first step. The one report that takes the most time to put together.

  • Reports and dashboards that update themselves
  • Pipelines that connect the systems you already use
  • Data quality checks that catch problems early
  • Internal tools where off-the-shelf software doesn’t fit

Ways to start

Start with one problem. You know the scope and the price of each step before you commit to it.

Intro call

We talk through the problem and how your team handles it today. You find out whether I can help, and I find out whether it is a good fit. No preparation needed.

Timing
30 minutes

One-workflow assessment

I look closely at one workflow: a working conversation, a review of your sample data or documents, and a short written recommendation. It comes with a fixed quote to build the fix.

Price
$500
Timing
Delivered within 1 to 2 weeks

Implementation

One clearly defined improvement, built and running on your real data. The scope and deliverables are written down before work starts, and the price includes testing and a handoff to your team.

Price
From $2,500
Timing
Typically 2 to 4 weeks
  • The $500 assessment fee is credited toward the project it quotes. A $2,500 implementation leaves $2,000 to pay.
  • Quotes are good for 60 days.
  • Software subscriptions and ongoing support are priced separately. Larger projects are quoted separately.

Who you’ll work with

Andrew Cross

I’m Andrew Cross. I’ve spent more than 20 years working with data as a data engineer, DBA, and platform architect.

These days most of my work is AI: assistants, document analysis tools, and automations that take repetitive work off people’s plates. The data background matters, because an AI tool is only as good as the data behind it.

I started Kansas City Data Solutions for organizations that don’t have a data team of their own. You work with me from the first conversation through delivery. I explain things in plain language and show working software early.

Experience
More than 20 years in data engineering, database administration, and platform architecture

Questions

Fit, scope, pricing, and how your data is handled.

Who do you work with?

Small and midsize businesses in the Kansas City area, usually ones without a data team of their own. If your team spends hours each week on reports, documents, or re-keying data, we should talk.

What happens on the intro call?

We spend about 30 minutes on the problem you want solved and how your team handles it today. You don’t need a technical specification. The call is free, and its only job is to check whether we are a fit.

How do you price projects?

The intro call is free. A one-workflow assessment is $500 and comes with a fixed quote. Implementations start at $2,500, and the assessment fee is credited toward the project it quotes. Software subscriptions and ongoing support are priced separately. You always know the scope and the price before work starts.

How long does a project take?

You get the assessment within 1 to 2 weeks of our working conversation. A first implementation typically takes 2 to 4 weeks. Larger projects take longer and are quoted separately.

Can you work with our existing systems?

Yes. I work with Azure, SQL Server, Snowflake, Power BI, common databases, and APIs. We review access and integration requirements before committing to an approach.

How do you keep our data safe when AI is involved?

Before I build anything we agree on what data the tool can see, who can use it, and what gets logged. Where possible the work runs inside your own accounts, so your data stays with you. I use business-grade AI services whose terms keep your data out of model training, and at handoff I document what each tool can access.

What happens after delivery?

You get documentation and a handoff so your team can run the solution. Ongoing support is available if you want it.
